Deadline Extended for the 2025–2026 VLRE Student Advisory Board

The Virginia Law-Related Education Institute (VLRE) is proud to launch the Student Advisory Board for the 2025–2026 school year! This new initiative is designed to enhance student engagement in legal education, promote excellence and recognition in mock trial, and expand opportunities for high school students interested in careers in law.

The Student Advisory Board will:

• Serve as the primary student voice and leadership body for VLRE

• Assist in outreach to recruit additional teams and participants

• Provide statewide mock trial leadership and competition resources

• Host career development events, webinars, and trainings

The Board will be made up of outstanding student leaders from across Virginia and Washington, D.C. Members will be appointed annually by the VLRE Board of Directors, with executive roles including Head Chair, Vice Chair, Outreach Coordinator, Mentorship Coordinator, Communications Chair, and Social Media Chair, along with four general members.

Eligibility: Students in grades 9–12 who have participated in at least one regional or state mock trial competition are encouraged to apply. Applicants must submit a personal statement, resume, and be able to meet monthly with state leadership.
