Mock Trial Registration Opens for 2026-2027

The Declaration of Independence has disappeared. Are you ready to prosecute and defend the alleged thief?

Registration is now open for the 2026–27 Virginia and D.C. High School Mock Trial season. Teams of 6 to 12 students from across Virginia and the District are invited to take on this year’s criminal case and compete in regional competitions. Top teams will advance to the Virginia and D.C. State Championship, where they’ll compete for the opportunity to represent our program at the National High School Mock Trial Championship in St. Louis this May.

Mock trial allows students to step into the roles of attorneys and witnesses, prepare both sides of a case, and present their arguments before judges and practicing attorneys. New teams are welcome, and no previous mock trial experience is required. Discounted registration is available for schools that haven’t participated during the past five years.

Schools may pay by credit card during online registration or mail a check using the instructions provided on the registration page. Registered teams will receive access to the complete case materials and resources to help them prepare for the season.

Register your team and access the case materials.
